Norman Foster is Founder and Chairman of Foster + Partners. He studied at Manchester University School of Architecture and Yale University, where he gained a Masters Degree. In 1967 he established Foster Associates now Foster + Partners which has grown to become one of the most respected international architectural practices. He was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize In 1999 and the Praemium Irnperiale in 2002; and in 2009 he became the twenty-ninth laureate of the Prince of Asturias Award for Arts. He was granted a Knighthood in 1990 and appointed to the Order of Merit in 1997. In 1999 he became a life peer, taking the title Lord Foster of Thames Bank.
Joseph Giovannini is an architectural designer, critic and writer. He has been a contributor to the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and Thu New York Times and to a number of books on contemporary architecture and design, including Graphic Design in America and Los Angeles at 25mph.
