Jonathan I. Israel, Ph.D.(1972), Oxford University, is Professor of Early Modern European History at the Institute for Advanced Study, at Princeton. He has published extensively on Jewish, Dutch, Iberian and Ibero-American, as well as intellectual history.Reinier Salverda, Ph.D. (1985) in Linguistics, Free University Amsterdam, is Professor of Dutch Language and Literature at University College London. He has published extensively on Dutch language, literature and culture, and he is Deputy Editor of the yearbook The Low Countries(1993-).
