Relates the activities of a Dutch Jewish woman, Ans van Dijk (1905-1948), who, from her arrest in May 1943 until August 1944, betrayed ca. 107 Jews and 38 non-Jews, mainly in Amsterdam, but also in Baarn, Zeist, and Enkhuizen, in exchange for her release. Discusses her actions, her motives, her victims, and her cooperating partners (among others, Branca Simons and Rosalie Roozendaal). Records the hunt for Jews by the Office of Jewish Affairs (Bureau Joodsche Zaken) of the Amsterdam police (from 1943, the SD), and her cooperation with its policemen (e.g. Abraham Kaper, Gerrit R. Mozer, and Pieter Schaap). In January 1948 she was executed. Others were sentenced to years of imprisonment.
