SIR WALTER SCOTT, BAKT. the author of the Waverley Novels and most admired writer of the age was born at Edinburgh, 1771. He is clerk of the court of Sessions, resides in Edinburgh during the session of the court and the rest of the year at his splendid seat at Abbotsford. He has four children, one of whom is married to the celebrated J.G.Lockhart.
