The only history of the Deccan extant, this volume covers about a century, ending in 1883, giving the romance of the French and British ascendancy of power in India, and dealing with the various Kingdoms, Chiefs, in the Deccan, who, surrounded by hostile foes, sought French and subsequently Britsih financial and military aid. This volume also gives the inner history of the Berar Trust which for the last twenty years has been the source of heated controversy.
