Prato, 1826-29 The above is the 7th copy taken off and contains the best impressions of the plates. The coppers used in the French edition of the work were re-engraved in a superior manner for this Italian edition.

The book is the completest work of its kind and gives a succinct view of the progress, decline and renovation of Architecture, Sculpture and Painting. A great number of Illustrations are given drawn from MSS. and of much interest to the Paleographical student. The Arts of Engraving on Wood, on Gems, and Medals are also represented. 902 AKERMAN (J. Y.) Copies of this valuable work have become very scarce. As will be seen by the General Index in the eighth volume, nearly every great Italian family is represented and its Coat of Arms figured in the plates. The elaborate work of Count LITTA is richer in details but not so many families are described in it. 906 Armorial of Pomerania. BAGMIHL (I. T.) the same, 3 vols. large folio, very tall copy in old binding, very rare, ib. 1737-54 This is the best edition of Bosio's learned work on the Catacombs. Bottari has incorporated in his volumes the additions of the first editors of the work and those of P. Aringhi, and contributed much new matter.

915 Campo Santo di Pisa. LASINIO, Pitture a fresco del Campo Santo, atlas folio, Large View of the interior, 39 plates, first and BRILLIANT impressions, and 1 plate added from the 1828 edition-together 41 plates, old hf. russia neat, very sound binding, £8. 10s Firenze, 1812

This is the genuine carliest edition of this work. The Frescoes were painted by the best Tuscan Artists, and they represent events in Ancient and Scriptural History. Every year the Frescoes will be less easily discerned, and Lasinio's engravings must become enhanced in value.

Paris, 1874 An important contribution to the history of one of the most interesting of the pre-historic periods-the Age of Bronze. The work is the result of 20 years' labour. It contains a striking view of a phase of life in the ancient times before the Gauls or the Romans had reached Switzerland.

the same, LARGE PAPER, folio, coloured plates and vignettes after Stothard, fine copy tree-marbled calf, by Kalthober, £15. 1793 This work is excessively rare on "LARGE PAPER." Uncut Small Paper copies (by 1 inch shorter) are occasionally mistaken for Large Paper copies; even the existence of Large Paper copies has been doubted.

No coloured copy has occurred for sale since this one at Sir Chas. Price's. It may be reasonably supposed that the book in the coloured state is excessively rare. 926 FRIDERICI II (Romanorum et Sicilia Regis) Historia Diplomatica sive
