Strangways, F.G.S. This has been checked and considerably amplified. In connection with the old books dealing with Spas, etc., Fox-Strangways spent a considerable time at the British Museum, and, as a result, few additions have had to be made to that section of his work. For the entries for the years 1893-1914 (from page 254 to the end) I am responsible.

The completion of this Bibliography in the comparatively short time of five years has been rendered possible by the fact that I have in my possession complete sets of most of the geological and natural history publications which contain papers on Yorkshire. I have also had access to many y rare books, pamphlets and maps, and have paid many visits to the libraries in London and elsewhere, especially with regard to the earlier publications. willingly helped, I am very grateful; especially to Mr. George Barrow, of H.M. Geological Survey, for his pains in completing and amplifying the information Fox-Strangways had prepared in reference to the maps of the Geological Survey (pages 477-502).
