Abstract: Agriculture Handbook No. 8-9 is a reference tool for food data and nutrient tables on fruits and fruit juices (263 items). Data, presented in a table format, are provided on the nutrient profile of a single food item, the 100 g food basis, 2 common food measures (e.g., 1 tbsp, 1 cup), and the edible portion of 1 pound as purchased (453.6 g). Included are values for: refuse, energy, proximate composition (water, protein, fat, carbohydrate and ash), 9 mineral elements (Ca, Fe, Mg, Ph, K, Na, Zn, Cu, Mn), 9 vitamins (e.g., ascorbic acid, thiamin, vitamins B12 and A), individual fatty acids, total saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fatty acids, cholesterol, total phytosterols, and 18 amino acids.
