This rare collection, which is sought after, contains 1) 6 leaves of preliminary matter; 2) the Greek text, 42 pages; 3) Grotius's Latin metrical version, in which the fragments of Cicero's version are inserted, 36 pages; 4) Grotius's notes, 24 pages; 5) Germanici Cæsaris interpr. 94 pages, with 42 plates, printed in the text, and 2 single ones, of which the first represents the zodiac, and the second the four seasons of the year; 6) Grotii notæ ad German. phænom. &c. 128 pages.-A new recension from a MS. The plates also appeared separately under the title, Jac. de Gheyn Aratea phænomena s. signa cœlestia 44 iconib. expressa. Amst., 1621. fol.

the first who described dancing with the ad-
dition of notes. The real name of the author

In many copies the half imperial eagle in the title-page under the picture of the crowned cock is wanting. Reprinted, Bruxell, (Avign.) 1748. 8°. and Lyon, 1760. 8°. Of the last only 150 copies are said to have been printed, but it is cheap. On large paper 14 fr. 95 c. M'Carthy.

This edition is especially prized in France, although the guerra neapol. and avenion. are wanting in it. Bollam. ib. 1670.-There appears to have been also another edition of 1670. in 12°. which according to the title contains the gu. neap. and aven. (Debure n. 2957.) and has stamparia instead of stampatura in the title (Brunet and Cat. M'Carthy have this form). The latest edition, Lond. (Par. Barbou), 1758. small 8°. Also on strong
