CHAPTER I.

BIBLE DOCTRINE OF HELL.

SECTION I.

All the passages in the OLD TESTAMENT wherein the Hebrew word SHEO occurs, and is rendered HELL in the common English Version.

Deut. 32: 22. For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn untc the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Verse 23. I will heap mischief upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

Verse 24. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with poison of serpents of the dust.

Verse 25. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

2 Sam. 22: 6. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me.

Verse 7. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God. Job 11: 8. Verse 7. Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
