Strengnesi, typis auctoris, 1636 Printing was established in Strenguaes by Bishop Paulin in 1632, at a private press, for which was invented a peculiar type. This renders the books issued from this press very curious and of importance for the History of Topography. A MS. note states that this Northern History is excessively rare. It contains copious details relating to the history of Sweden, more especially in modern times, and an account of the East and West Goths in Italy and Spain. The former owner observes that Queen Christina in 1637 commanded the author to cancel p. 381, containing an account of the Riga affair in the reign of Gustavus Adolphus (1626). The above copy, however, has this leaf. 713 SCRIPTORES RERUM SUECICARUM Medii Aevi, ex schedis praecipue Nordinianis, edid. E. M. FANT (et postea), E. G. GEIJER et J. H.
