Voorkant
Jan Janssen, 1645 - 8 pagina's
The book consists of a number of different sections that explain the origins of the noble rank and the use of family crests. It lists the knightly orders of the time and their corresponding coats of arms, and provides an overview of noble genealogical trees and lists of names. Thomas de Rouck recorded the complete attire of some knightly orders, which makes it possible to trace how members of certain orders dressed. In the back of the book, the second part, one finds a heraldic glossary with an explanation of the placement of attributes on the shield of the coat of arms, as well as the hatching system he created and used.
