Perhaps it will not be too much to say of this work, that it has been printed with the greatest elegance, and edited with the greatest care of any Sanscrit book that has yét issued from the press. With regard to that portion of the work which is exclusively Mr. Haughton's own, it will be esteemed, by impartial judges, as one of the finest monuments which have been raised to the knowledge of Indian Antiquitieso.

Yagnyavalkia. The whole, being a general view of Hindoo Laws, was translated into Tamulic, by Purur Vadyar, and was put to press by his brother Sidambala Vadyar, professor of the Tamulic language at the college of Madras, in Madras, 1817.
