300 AIMOINUS. Annonii monachi

de regum procerumque Francorum origine gestisque usque ad Phil. Augustum libri V. Par., ap. Ascens. 1514. fol.

The first and most rare, although faulty edition. A corrected edition (by J. Nicot), Par. Wechel, 1567. 8°. and still better, stud. et op. Jac. du Breul, Par. 1602. fol. (Other copies have the year 1603.) These 3 editions contain Aimoinus, with the interpolations and continuations of another person, as they are to be found in MS. at St. Germains. Critically prepared, and with the omission of the former additions, in Bouquet script. rer. Gall. T. III. p. 21 sqq.

301 AINSWORTH, Rь. Thesaurus linguæ latinæ compendiarius, or a compendious dictionary of the Latin tongue, with great additions by Th. Morell. Lond. 1796. 4°.

New edition, revised and enriched by J. Carey, Lond. 1816. 4°. The edition, Lond. 1752. fol. 2 vols. is almost as highly prized, but the other editions in 4°. are less so. An abridgment of it, Lond. 1813. 8°. 302 AIROLDI, Alfonso. Codice diplomatico di Sicilia, sotto il governo de gli Arabi. Palermo, stamp. reale, 1789-92. 4°. 3 parts in 6 vols. -Codex diplomaticus Siciliæ sub

An account of this shameless imposture of the abate Jos. Vella is in Jos. Hager relation d'une insigne imposture littéraire. Erl. 1799. 4°. (in German, ib. eod. 4°.) and Eichhorn Bibl. d. bibl. Litt. IX. 143215. The work is from beginning to end a fiction, and the pretended codex contains nothing but an account of Mohammed and his traditions. See also VELLA.

303 AITON, W. Hortus Kewensis, vated in the royal Botanic garden or a catalogue of the plants cultiat Kew. Enlarged by W. Townsend Aiton. Lond. 1810-1813. 8°. 5 vols. with plates (31.)
