Monstror. historia cum paralipomenis hist. omnium animalium 1642. I vol. Museum metallicum 1648. 1 vol. Dendrologiæ naturalis libri duo 1668. I vol. A good copy of this rare but now little esteemed collection must consist of the different editions mentioned. Copies, whereof

the first 9 vols. are of the reprint of Bonon, 1638-43, are in still less estimation. The most scarce volumes are Mus. metall. and Dendrol. The Paralipomena, which are commonly bound up with the hist. monstror. are also sometimes wanting. Copies made up of the Bologne and Frankfort editions are without value.

Of the Frankfort reprint, which, owing to its less pleasing appearance, has been altogether neglected by bibliographers, the Dresden library possesses the following editions (such as are known of another date I have noted in parentheses :) Ornithologia. 1610. 1629. 1630. 3 Tomi. (1640.) De insectis. 1618 also 1623. De anim. exang. 1618 also 1623. De pisc. et cetis. 1629 also 1647. (1623 also 1640). quadrup. solidip. 1623 (not 1622). De quadrup. bisulc. 1647. Dendrol. Ed. 3. 1692 (also 1648 and 1671.) The whole in 4 vols. The Frankfort reprint consequently does not contain de quadrup. digit., serp. et drac. hist., monstr. hist., and mus. metall. The insertion of the names of Clement and George as the printers of the two last is

wrong.
