ITS PRESENT PRISTINE CONDITION, WHICH IS PRACTICALLY UNSPOTTED.
Indeed, it is doubtful if a more desirable copy is available, being in the
original sheep, original end papers front and back, and SOME EDGES UN-
TRIMMED. The initials "F. D." have been stamped in gold on both covers.

This work, which was compiled principally from the Journals of
William Bradford and Thomas Winslow, is not only the FIRST HISTORICAL
WORK issued from the Massachusetts Press, but IS THE FIRST HISTORICAL
BOOK PRINTED IN AMERICA.

The Voyage of the Mayflower is given in detail, as is also the story of the landing and first settlement of the Pilgrims.

The present copy contains the leaf "To the Reader'' with recto blank, and also the five leaves of "Chronological Table' at the end.
