Bee Parables is educational and edifying. Become fascinated by the honey bee world and see the parallels to the Christian community. Building upon the concepts in 1 Corinthians 12, believers are encouraged to have an active and healthy role within a Christian community. Bee Parables does this by first explaining interesting facts about honey bees and then encourages a similar response among believers. Individual bees, each dutifully performing their designated tasks, contribute to the well being of the entire colony. Likewise, Christians are reminded to faithfully use their God given abilities to make a contribution towards the overall growth and well being of their fellow believers. The bees need each other for survival. Christians are challenged to consider their individual roles within their churches with equal seriousness. David Silk obtained his Bachelor of Science (Nuclear Engineering) in 1984 from Penn State. He later earned his Master of Arts (New Testament) in 2005 from Biblical Theological Seminary where he received the Master of Arts Academic Award and the Greek Exegesis Award upon graduation. David Silk has combined his seminary education with a life long interest in honey bees and over ten years of personal beekeeping experience to produce Bee Parables. He has worked for the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission for over 23 years. He and his wife Brenda have been married for over 17 years. They live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and attend Storehouse Church.
