This interesting copy belonged to the Rev. John Hussey, the friend of Dr. Johnson, who has inserted the latter's excellent original autograph letter to him, which is printed in the work, and also Boswell's autograph letter of thanks for the use of it. Unfortunately the signatures of both have been cut away. The volumes also contain some original anecdotes in the handwriting of Mr. Hussey.
