The Antiquary

Sir Walter Scott's classic tale of Oldbuck, the antiquary, as well as the love of Lovel and Isabella Wardour. Set in 1790's Scotland, "The Antiquary" was Scott's personal favorite of his novels and has been lauded by critics. As one critic remarked "Not many, apart from Shakespeare, could write scenes in which truth and poetry, realism and romance, are more wonderfully presented."
