The ground selected commenced in the Fair Field, and was precisely the same as run over last year, with the exception that the brook was partially closed up, the rest of the fencing presenting nothing worthy of remark. The Squire, the only one who would jump, won in a canter, but in the walk over bolted, and upsetting a Mr. Robinson and his horse he was so much injured as to be killed on the ground, the stakes being handed to Mr. Jackson, and bets standing.
