Mr. A. H. CLARKE, in the absence of the chairman, Mr. Geoffrion, presented the second report of the special committee on the Lumsden charges, as follows:

The Special Committee appointed to investigate charges and allegations made by

sufficient number of copies through the committee.

Motion agreed to.

BUSINESS OF THE HOUSE.

Mr. GERMAN. I have a notice on the order paper which is No. 15 among the notices of motion. It would necessarily have to come up on private member's day. but as there will be no more private mem bers' days, I beg leave to withdraw the motion as I wish to bring it up in another form.

LOBSTER INDUSTRY.

Mr. Hugh D. Lumsden regarding a portion COMMANDER WAKEHAM'S REPORT ON of the engineering staff of the Transcontinental railway beg leave to present the following as their second report: Your committee recommend that the proceedings and evidence taken by the committee be printed from day to day for the use of the committee, and that rule 72 be suspended in reference thereto.

Mr. A. H. CLARKE moved that the report be concurred in.

Mr. SINCLAIR moved that the fifth report of the Select Standing Committee on Marine and Fisheries be now concurred in. Mr. R. L. BORDEN. What is the report?

Mr. SINCLAIR. During the recess Commander Wakeham, an officer of the Department of Marine and Fisheries, was appointMr. HENDERSON. I notice that the re-ed to take evidence with reference to the port recommends the printing of the evidence for the use of the committee. The members of the House are all deeply interested in this, and I think a sufficient number of copies should be printed to give every member a fair supply.

lobster industry. He completed his work and brought in his report recommending certain changes in the fishery law. These recommendations have been referred to the Committee on Marine and Fisheries. The committee recommend that a thousand copies of Commander Wakeham's report be printed.

INQUIRIES FOR PAPERS, &c.

On the orders of the day being called: tion which was asked yesterday by the hon. Mr. PUGSLEY. I wish to answer a quesmember for Welland (Mr. German). He made an inquiry as to a return which was moved for at the last session of parliament with regard to the dredges which are owned by the government and their operation for the last four years. The return has been prepared and has left my department, in the ordinary course to go to the Department of the Secretary of State, and I presume that within a day or two it will be ready for submission to the House.
