The first tract in this volume is a valuable contemporary Jacobite account of the Battle of Preston Pans, and consists of eight closely printed pages. The other piece gives a Chronicle of the Rebellion down to the defeat of Cope, in biblical phraseology.

This extraordinary book, which includes amongst other things the list of Urquhart's ancestors from Adam downwards, is written throughout in the extravagant and fantastic language which makes the author's translation of Rabelais so racy a masterpiece.
