Over de auteur (2004)

Robert Beer, a British artist and scholar of Buddhist and Hindu symbolism, has studied and practiced Tibetan thangkha painting for the past thirty-three years. Since 1975 he has lived in England, working consistently on developing the artistic skills, vision, patience and understanding of this highly complex subject. Between 1980 and 1998 he worked on an extensive series of several hundred iconographical brush drawings depicting all of the symbols and ritual implements employed in Tibetan art. His paintings and drawings have appeared in at least 600 books on Buddhist themes.
