THE Editions of the Poems of Ossian in Gaelic, hitherto published, are both scarce and expensive, and it has long been felt desirable that they should be issued in a form which would render them more accessible to the great body of Gaelic readers. All our better works in Gaelic literature are scattered pretty largely over the Highlands, and among Highlanders elsewhere; but these Poems, holding so prominent and interesting a place in that literature, are rarely to be met with.
