Lectures of the Gospel of Saint Matthew 1805

1805. Two volumes in one. These lectures were delivered in the parish church of St. James, Westminster, in the years 1798-1801. The lectures are learned without ostentation, pious without any tincture of enthusiasm, argumentative without pedantry, and perspicuous without losing sight of the graces of style and diction. They are written with an ardor of patriotism, a genuine thirst of piety and a strong sense of duty. Due to the age and scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may be spotty, faded or difficult to read.
