and values of articles to be added to manufactures in those several tables, if so classified. If added to the exports of manufactures as given in table xxi, p. 71, or in table xxix, p. 134, the total values would be $101,310,252 for 1905, $121,287,839 for 1906, $127,496,446 for 1908 and $121,286,176 for 1909. Added to the exports of manufactures to Britain in table xxi the total value for 1909 would be $50,242,618, to the United States $51,200, 408 and to other countries $19,843,150; and the total increase in the period from 1905 to 1909 would be almost 20 per cent. But of course the chief component value of these exports is that of raw mater al.

NOTE. The articles in tables xxxvi and xxxviii if added to the imports of manufactures in tables xxx-xxxiii would give totals of $175,182,611 for 1905, $197,100,033 for 1906, $249,072,649 for 1908 and $196,540,127 for 1909. The imports of manufactures from Great Britain with the articles in these tables added would reach a total for 1909 of $60,987,788, from the United States of $102,118,077 and from other countries of $33,434,262, making an aggregate import of manufactures for the year of $196,540,127, or nearly 66 per cent of all our imports.
