A CHRISTMAS CAROL

BY CHARLES DICKENS.

With more than 30 New Illustrations by S. EYTINGE, JR.

This beautiful volume (A Specimen Illustration from which is given on the first page) has been prepared with the utmost care and attention to every particular; it is in size and general appearance uniform with the "Illustrated Snow-Bound" which appeared last year. It contains more than Thirty Illustrations, -chiefly of the size of the specimen, - all engraved with his best skill by, MR. ANTHONY, from Entirely New Drawings by S. EYTINGE, JR., the well-known illustrator of the Diamond Dickens.

From the popularity of the story, and the care and skill which all engaged in preparing this edition have devoted to it, the publishers feel warranted in claiming for the book as high rank among this year's holiday issues, as notably was occupied by the "Snow-Bound" last year.

Price, in Cloth, $5.00; in Full Morocco, $9.00.

Tennyson's Locksley Hall.

With 19 Illustrations by W. J. HENNESSY.

The artist who so successfully illustrated WHITTIER'S "Maud Muller" has been more than equally happy in his rendering of this poem of TENNYSON'S; and the delicate fancy, as well as the careful drawing and finish which characterize all Mr. Hennessy's work, have in this series of designs been most faithfully reproduced by the engraver. The book is a small quarto, of the size and shape that were so popular in the illustrated "Evangeline" and "Sir Launfal," and with the red-line border to each page which was one of the attractions of the latter.

Price, in Cloth, $ 3.00: Full Morocco, $ 5.50.

For Specimen of Illustrations see next page.

"So well as photography can illustrate a book, and for the exercise of its powers it would be hard to find an apter field than this romance offers, it is perfect."-Athenæum.

1

"What is not familiar to us all is such an exquisite and elaborate series of photographs of Rhineland scenery and Swiss scenery; they are little short of perfection."- Saturday Review.
