A very magnificent work, of which only 250 copies were printed. The types were cast expressly to imitate the letters of the MS. The Codex Bezæ contains more remarkable readings than any MS. hitherto discovered, and is supposed to be one of the oldest extant, and to have been written upwards of fourteen hundred years ago. Very rare; being the only folio Bible allowed to be printed in English during the reign of Queen Mary, who is said to have caused the destruction of nearly the whole impression. The disputed verse (1 John V. vii.) is printed in Roman Letters, and in parentheses. The above is a very perfect copy with the exception of preliminary leaf, and the title admirably facsimiled.
