Mazzei; who was assisted in the work by the celebrated Condorcet. The second and third volumes are occupied by criticisms on the works of Mably and Raynal. Mazzei was an Italian by birth, who migrated to America before the revolution, and established himself in Virginia, near Monticello, where he planted a vineyard.
